Gearit
by The It Group
Privacy policy
Effective 2 August 2026
Gearit is an iOS app that scans a creator's equipment setup and scores it to find the weakest link, made by The It Group. This policy explains what Gearit does with your information. It is short because there is not much to explain.
The short version
- Gearit collects no personal data. None is sent to us, and we run no servers that could receive it.
- Everything you create in Gearit stays on your device.
- There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services in the app.
- There are no accounts, and nothing to sign up for.
What Gearit collects
Nothing. Gearit does not ask for your name, email address, location, contacts, or any other personal information, and it does not transmit your content or your usage to us or to anyone else.
Where your content lives
Everything you make or save in Gearit is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to us. If you use Apple’s own device backups (such as iCloud Backup), your Gearit data may be included in them — that backup is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, and we have no access to it.
Third parties
Gearit contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers. We have deliberately kept it that way.
The App Store
If you download Gearit from Apple’s App Store, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymised statistics — download counts and crash reports, for example. These contain no personal information and cannot be traced back to you by us.
Deleting your data
Because everything lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your data with it. There is nothing held anywhere else for you to request, and nothing for us to erase.
Children
Gearit collects no data from anyone — which includes children. The app is not directed at children under 13 and contains no features that would knowingly gather information from them.
Changes to this policy
If Gearit ever changes how it handles data, this page will be updated first and the effective date above will change. A promise kept simple: if the app starts collecting something, this policy will say so plainly before it does.
